Who we are
LovedPage is operated by [FULL LEGAL NAME], a sole trader registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS], [COUNTRY] [TAX / REGISTRATION NUMBER, IF ANY].
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that person. “You” means the person using the service. You can reach us at any time at support@lovedpage.com.
By creating an account or using LovedPage, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.
What LovedPage is
LovedPage is a tool for making a single web page as a gift — for an anniversary, a birthday, a wedding, or no occasion at all. You write the words, add photographs, choose how the page looks, and we publish it at its own web address so you can send that one link to the person it is for.
When you first publish a page it goes online free for fifteen minutes, carrying a small watermark, so you can open it on your own phone and see exactly what the other person will see. When those fifteen minutes are up the page comes offline. Everything you wrote and uploaded stays exactly where it is, and paying puts the page back at the same address.
We are a small operation. We are not a backup service, an archive, or a storage provider, and you should keep your own copies of any photograph or piece of writing that matters to you. Please read section 10 before you rely on us for anything irreplaceable.
Your account
You need an account to make a page. You can create one with an email address and a password, or by signing in with Google. You must give us an email address that is genuinely yours and that you can receive mail at, because that is how we send you the link that activates your account and the link that resets your password if you forget it.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself. If you think somebody else has got into your account, email us and we will help.
You must be at least 16 years old to have an account. LovedPage is not designed for children, and we do not knowingly hold accounts for them.
What you may put on a page
A LovedPage is personal by nature, and almost everything people make with it is exactly what it looks like. These rules exist for the small number of cases that are not.
You must not use LovedPage to publish anything that:
- you do not have the right to publish — including photographs you did not take and do not have permission to use, and copyrighted music, writing or artwork that is not yours;
- shows a person who has not agreed to appear on it, where they would reasonably object;
- harasses, threatens, defames or humiliates somebody, or is intended to frighten or shame the person receiving it;
- is sexual content involving anybody under 18, in any form;
- contains malware, or tries to attack, overload or break into any part of the service or anybody else's page;
- is unlawful where you are, or where the person receiving it is.
Photographs deserve their own sentence. When you upload a picture of another person you are telling us you are entitled to, and that you have their agreement to put it on a page you are about to publish on the open web. If somebody appears on a page and wants it taken down, write to us and we will act.
We do not read your pages as a matter of course, and we would rather not. We are not obliged to monitor what you publish. But if something is reported to us, or we otherwise become aware of it, we may take a page offline — see section 12.
AI portraits
A page can include an illustrated portrait drawn from a photograph you upload. To produce it, the photograph is sent to an external image-generation provider, which returns the drawing. The result is stored with your page like any other picture on it.
Two things follow from that, and both matter. First, you must have the right to use the photograph and, if it shows somebody else, their agreement to make a portrait from it. Second, that photograph leaves our servers and is handled by a third party. What that provider does with it is governed by their terms, not ours — we explain this, and name them, in our Privacy Policy.
Generated images are unpredictable by nature. We cannot promise a likeness you will be happy with, and a portrait that does not look how you hoped is not by itself a fault in the service. Paid plans include two portraits.
Prices and payment
There are two plans, and both are paid once. Neither is a subscription, neither renews, and we will never charge a card of yours a second time without you asking us to.
- A year — $14.99
- The page online for twelve months at an address you choose, with no watermark, every section and animation, an optional PIN, control over the moment it goes live, and two AI portraits included.
- Forever — $19.99
- Everything in the yearly plan, except that it does not expire and never renews.
Prices are in US dollars and are shown before tax. Any sales tax or VAT due where you live is calculated and added at checkout.
Who you are actually buying from. Payments are processed by [MERCHANT OF RECORD], which acts as the Merchant of Record for every purchase. That means your contract of sale for the payment itself is with them: they take the payment, handle sales tax and VAT, issue your invoice, and process refunds. Your invoice and card statement will show their name, not ours. These terms still govern your use of the service.
We may change our prices at any time. A change never affects a page you have already paid for — a “Forever” page stays online whatever we charge new customers later.
Refunds and cancelling
If you are in the UK or the EU, you normally have fourteen days to withdraw from a purchase made online and get your money back, without giving a reason. We honour that, and we extend the same fourteen days to everybody else wherever they live.
The one exception, and please read it before you publish. A LovedPage is digital content delivered immediately. When you publish a paid page you are asking us to deliver it there and then, and you acknowledge that once we have, your right to withdraw is lost. This is the standard position for digital content under UK and EU consumer law, and it is why the button says what it says.
In plain terms:
- Paid but not yet published: ask within fourteen days and we refund you in full, no reason needed.
- Paid and published: the withdrawal right no longer applies, because you have had the thing you bought.
- If the service is faulty: if your page will not publish, will not stay online, or does not do what we said it does, you are entitled to a refund whether you have published or not. This is a legal right and nothing above limits it.
To ask for a refund, email support@lovedpage.com. Refunds are issued by [MERCHANT OF RECORD] to the payment method you used, and usually take a few working days to appear.
How long a page stays online
A free trial page is online for fifteen minutes. A yearly page is online for twelve months from the day you pay. A “Forever” page stays online for as long as LovedPage exists.
That last sentence deserves honesty rather than confidence. We intend to keep the service running indefinitely, and “Forever” is sold in good faith. But we are one person, not an institution, and no small service can truthfully promise eternity. If we ever have to close LovedPage down, we will give you at least ninety days' notice by email to the address on your account, and a way to download everything you have made before the lights go out.
When a yearly page reaches the end of its twelve months it goes offline, and the link stops working. We will email you before that happens. Your content is not deleted at that moment and paying again brings the page back at the same address.
Your content stays yours
The words you write and the photographs you upload remain entirely yours. We claim no ownership of them, we do not use them to advertise LovedPage, and we do not use them to train any machine-learning model of our own.
To run the service at all we need your permission to do the obvious mechanical things: store your content, make copies of it for backup and for resizing images, and display it to anyone who opens your page. So you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to do exactly that, for as long as your page is on our servers, and for no other purpose. The licence ends when you delete the content.
If we ever want to show a page you made as an example of what LovedPage can do, we will ask you first and take no for an answer.
Availability
We work hard to keep LovedPage up, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. Things break, servers need updating, and networks fail. The service is provided “as is”.
We will take reasonable care with your content, but you should keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable. Please do not treat a LovedPage as the only surviving copy of a photograph.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms cannot take away, and nothing here is intended to.
Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or lost opportunities, or for content you lost that you had not kept a copy of. Our total liability to you for any claim connected with LovedPage is limited to the amount you have actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Given that the most anyone pays us is $19.99, we would rather simply fix the problem. Email us before you consider anything more formal.
Suspending or closing an account
You may stop using LovedPage whenever you like, and you may ask us to delete your account and everything on it by emailing support@lovedpage.com. We will do it.
We may take a page offline, or suspend or close an account, if it breaks section 4, if we are required to by law, or if it is being used to attack the service. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right; where the content is seriously unlawful we may act immediately.
If we close a paid page for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund you proportionally.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top always says when they last changed. If a change materially affects your rights, we will email everybody with an account before it takes effect.
Changes never apply retrospectively to a page you have already paid for on the terms that were in force when you paid.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of [COUNTRY / JURISDICTION], and disputes will be dealt with by the courts of [COUNTRY / JURISDICTION].
If you are a consumer living in the UK or the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them still stand.
